Transportation
Q: Can we drive personal vehicles up to camp?
A: Depending on the size of the gathering, we occasionally allow 1-2 personal vehicles for summer weddings and retreats, if the vehicle meets our requirements (4WD or AWD and minimum 8.5” ground clearance).
Q: How does transport for day guests work?
A: We can transport up to 24 day-guests to and from High Camp the day of your ceremony/reception. We work with you to customize a transport schedule that fits your groups needs with a maximum of 12 people per shuttle time and 2hrs minimum between scheduled shuttles.
Q: Can we have a shuttle drive up wedding decorations or other supplies the day before our arrival?
A: Yes, we can run a supply shuttle with things like decorations, keg, food, etc. up to High Camp the day before you arrive.
Q: Can we bring bikes or skis with us to High Camp?
A: Yes, you are welcome to bring bikes, skis, etc. with you for your wedding or group event! Guests often enjoy biking or skiing from the cabins all the way down to the parking lot – roughly 3,000’ of descent.
Catering & Vendors
Q: Are you able to transport vendors up & down from camp on the wedding day?
A: Yes! Caters can drop off prepared food to staff in our parking lot to drive up to camp. For larger weddings we occasionally allow caterers to drive everything up themselves if they have a vehicle that meets our requirements (4WD or AWD and minimum 8.5” ground clearance).
Q: Can the caterer use the kitchen in the Lodge to prep? What appliances does the kitchen have?
A: Yes, caterers are welcome to use the kitchen in the Lodge for meal prep. It is equipped with a propane commercial range (6 top burners and large oven), sink with hot/cold potable water, and a general collection of pots/pans/dishes/utensils. There is also a large outdoor propane grill (8 burners) on the back deck that can be used. Caterers should bring their own service dishes.
Q: How do we store any food we bring with us?
A: You will need to provide coolers and plastic bins for your food storage, as there is no refrigerator available at High Camp. During summer drinks can be kept in the creek alongside the Lodge, which runs cold enough to chill beverages.
Q: Do you have a dishwasher in the Lodge or will staff do this for us?
A: We do not have a dishwasher in the Lodge and your group will be accountable to wash all the pots/pans/dishes/utensils used for your gathering. We’ve found selecting small groups of 2-3 people for each meal is sufficient based on kitchen space.
Q: What tables/chairs do you have for eating outdoors?
A: We have eight picnic tables which seat 6-8 people and wooden folding chairs. You are also welcome to utilize a mix of tables and chairs from the Lodge and cabins. We do not provide any table decorations or linens.
Q: Can we have a band?
A: Yes, you can absolutely have a band! Based on the size and instruments, if often works well for the band to drive themselves to/from High Camp if they have a vehicle that meets our requirements (4WD or AWD and minimum 8.5” ground clearance).
Ceremony & Photography
Q: Where are the ceremony locations you recommend?
A: We have a variety of unique locations across the mountain landscape great for ceremonies: Glacier Peak Viewpoint, Sunset Meadow, creekside near the Lodge, etc. By far Glacier Peak Viewpoint is the most popular!
Q: What time of day is best for our wedding ceremony?
A: This really depends on your group size and person preference. We see most of our wedding ceremonies between 2 and 5pm.
Q: What do you provide for the ceremony?
A: We give couples a beautiful wilderness landscape and allow them to design their own experience. This means if you are looking for decorations like a ceremony arbor/backdrop, please remember to bring it with you. This also means we do not have any seating for the ceremony, though we often provide a handful of chairs or grandparents.
Q: Do you provide a photographer and where can we take wedding photos?
A: No, we do not provide a photographer. When hiring a photographer, please inform them they are required to share a small selection of images with High Camp for our future business use. Couples often pick a number of locations across the landscape for post-ceremony couple or family photos.
Q: Can we get a shuttle to the ceremony or photo locations?
A: Occasionally, depending on group size and shuttle schedules, we are able to provide 1 vehicle to transport grandparents and others to/from the ceremony depending on which location is selected.
Q: Are we allowed to use confetti/rice/flower pedals/etc. as a celebratory throw?
A: No, based on our remote wilderness location and potential impact to flora and fauna please do NOT use any of these materials.
Electricity
Q: Does High Camp have electricity? What can we do for additional power?
A: We have a small charging station in the Lodge, powered by solar panels. This is for charging small devices like phones and head lamps. If you need additional power, we can provide a small Honda generator – but we highly recommend bringing a Goal Zero portable charger because it is silent.
Q: Do you supply extension cords?
A: Yes, we have 2 extension cords you are welcome to use (~30’ length)
Q: How can we play music?
A: We have an Ion BlockRocker bluetooth speaker onsite that you are welcome to use, which has a long battery life. Or you can bring along your own speaker setup as there are no noise constraints at our remote location!
Q: Are there lights in the cabins?
A: Both the cabins and Lodge feature propane lamps, which put off a nice warm glow. You are welcome to put up additional lights in structures or outside, as long as you do not add screws/nails/etc. to any structure or tree.

Q: What is required in order to lock in a wedding or group event reservation?
A: In order to lock in your preferred dates, we require a 50% deposit. The final payment will be automatically charged to this card the last day of your stay.
Q: What is your wedding/retreat cancellation policy?
A: Before 3 Months: full refund of deposit minus $200.00 cancellation fee. Within 3 Months: full camp book-outs cancelled less than 3 months from arrival date will lose deposit. Within 1 Month: full lodging amount will be charged (minus transportation costs).
Q: What about tipping staff?
A: Traditionally, guests who have enjoyed their stay at High Camp and appreciate the staff's hard work and long days splitting firewood and running transportation have found it appropriate to tip. Although it is ultimately your personal choice, tipping is greatly appreciated (recommended 3-5%).
